Dates for the 2024 on the last Friday of each month where possible

25th October
29th November
A beautiful place that will re-mind you how to slow down and reconnect…
Situated in the heart of Snowdonia on the banks of the River Conwy this really is a unique setting. Formal terraced kitchen gardens sitting alongside wild gardens, woodland and untamed landscape.
Here at Lima Gardens we work in harmony with nature.
We follow organic and no dig methods and believe that if we nurture and care for our soil that this in turn will give us fruit and vegetable crops full of vitality and nutrition. So by caring for our land and wildlife we are also caring for ourselves.
We are offering the opportunity to experience this evolving landscape. Month by month, season by season you will learn practical skills and get fully involved in the activities of a busy working garden.
One Friday a month (starting in February and running until November) you will work in a small group (of no more than 8) alongside Jenny the Head Gardener in these stunning, terraced, kitchen gardens. We produce fruit, vegetables and cut flowers, following organic principals. It includes a peach house, apple store, espalier fruit trees, fruit cage, rose beds, herbaceous border and a large rockery.
So there are plenty of interesting areas to explore!
The day will begin at 11am, with a cup of tea and an introduction to our days activities. We expect the day to run until 4pm. With plenty of time to relax, whether that be wild swimming in the river or sitting on a garden bench enjoying the birdsong.
This can be a day to switch off from the outside world and be immersed in the natural surroundings here at Lima Gardens.
Bring a packed lunch to enjoy on the top terrace or in the orchard if the weather is fine. If it is a chilly day we will be around the wood stove in the potting shed.
The days are planned to be fun and informal. A way to learn and relax away from the business of everyday life.
As the seasons progress there will be the opportunity to purchase plants, flowers and vegetables from the garden to take home.
